tea break

… please go to my homepage!
I didn’t feel like writing something for this littlefunnyabsurd blog. Enjoying some summer and some more time in my studio.
And last weekend we had really wonderful days with our special guest Tobi, including an extraordinary “musique concréte” final concert at TU Berlin, as a part of INVENTIONEN 2008.

bodi bill played a rooftop concert on the roof of the weekend club… including this fantastic cliché view!

for today: deerhunter playing at west germany!
and: on 30th of may was jack smith day at dennis cooper blog, well…it’s a bit too late to announce this today - but it is a great introduction in life & work of this outstanding icon.
These japanese guys (and especially the lady playing the guitar) played an amazing and absolut perfect concert. … and left nothing more to be desired.

and:

Read it ! Although the staging was quite ambitious, the book is still outstanding.
I have been to Saint-Etienne/France to install my works within “Micro-Narratives” at the Musée d’Art Moderne, the second largest Museum in France after the Centre Pompidou. I really liked the building, the museum was created by an architect who was famous for his department stores…

So if you need some time to relax, I recommend to go to Saint-Etienne - enjoy the exhibition (until september 21) and have some fun in this cosy french city!
More will come soon …
This post comes a little late - as this event took place already over a week ago:
“Plattenspieler-Thomas Meinecke und Daniel Richter” at HAU 2 on April, 15th.

It was an exemplary evening demonstrating Daniel Richter’s overestimation and naff posing without any kind of ironic sense or humour: when success corrupts attitude!
Detlef Kuhlbrodt has written an aptly summary here!
Let’s start with some clichés:

… and my favorite deli (with the best pastrami sandwich to go …):
Frank’s Deli at 167 9th Ave
(between 19th St & 20th St)
New York, NY 10011

The best food for an evening still feeling the hang-over from the night before … at Skylight Diner we enjoyed Reuben sandwich and Skylight-Chef-Salad …

… another night shot …

Endre in front of the masterpiece!

Some more art at the “New Museum” built by SANAA from Tokyo!

… and - a Tako! NYC-style !

… hihi … I love Origami!
Back from fancy days in Chelsea. And some more pics soon…
And I definitely only met very nice guys!
Exactly two years ago I came back from cherry blossom Tokyo. I often remember these days back there, this really special experience. And of course all those funny things like Cherry-blossom-flavoured-chocolate with the additional taste of red beans = Sakura Kit Kat!

So this year I will go to New York instead, flying on April first hopefully not as an April Fool’s Joke…
I really never expected to go to the States in the foreseeable future … well, I will bring back some probably bizarre and funny experiences! (I will help installing the upcoming show at Anton Kern Gallery)
And my old roommate at Kondo-san -Stephie- will fly to Tokyo on 2nd of April and I would also like to jump on the plane to Narita! Maybe I am still the biggest fan of Nakano!
きおつけて。Take Care!
